Take a look at the infographic, which discusses the jobs that didn’t exist only 10 years ago. Explain what each of these jobs does and say whether you would like to have it as a career path.

New Vocabulary

  • to deny (v) – to say that something is not true, to not allow someone to have or do something
  • repetitive (adj) – doing or saying the same thing several timesespecially in a way that is boring
  • ultimately (adv) – finally, after a series of things have happened
  • to surge (v) – to increase suddenly and strongly, to move quickly and powerfully
  • to manufacture (v) – to produce goods in large numbers, usually in a factory using machines
  • empathy (n) – feeling the suffering of others by imagining yourself in their position
  • compassion (n) – recognizing someone’s pain or suffering and wanting to help them
  • uncertain (adj) – unsure, not known or definite
