Welcome Module IV – Careers!

Congratulations on completing 75% of the EPS program! You are on the finish line, with the last module on the way! Very soon, you will enter university to receive an undergraduate degree. This step will set up your future career and, in many cases, determine what you will be doing in life. This module allows you to glance at some of the popular jobs, which will be only more important in the future. This week is an overview of the future perspectives and struggles of the labor market. In the following weeks, we will discuss some of the prominent career paths in more detail.

In the Reading section of this week, you will read about the jobs that Generation Z finds attractive. You will practice recognizing and taking notes of definitions in texts.  In the Listening section, you will watch a video about whether robots will take our jobs. You will practice recognizing and noting down the opposing points of view. After this, in the Writing part, you will learn about the structure of a cause/effect essay. This type of essay is one of the most important ones because it is often used for university assignments. Finally, the Communication section of this week will focus on different types of sentences. Combining simple sentences into compound and complex can significantly improve the quality of your writing.

Pay attention to the section Lesson of the Week to access materials (videos and texts) that will be used during the lessons. As always, the Soft Skills section will bring you some fun that you shouldn’t miss! We hope you enjoy this week’s topic and activities. Good luck!
