This course corresponds with the second semester of the Level 0 sequence for the EPS blended learning program. This course consists of two components – online study and synchronous mentor-led sessions. To complete this course, you are required to regularly attend classes and complete all the assigned work, including projects, writing assignments, module quizzes, and reflective journal entries.
This course corresponds to the A2 level of CEFR and consists of the following components:
- Academic Writing (introduction to the paragraph & essay structure and basic knowledge of coherence and cohesion tools);
- Academic Reading (introduction to basic academic reading strategies, such as recognizing text organization and inference);
- Academic Listening (the basics of note-taking);
- English Language Structure & Functions (basic language components of grammar, vocabulary, syntax);
- Presentation Skills (project-based work);
- Basic Metacognition Strategies (via self-reflective journal & learning principles).
This course has one pre-requisite of EPS Level 0 Semester I.
